The average time it takes to learn to drive is somewhere between 30 and 50 hours. The Driving Standards Agency (DSA) recommend private practise as well. One of the most efficient ways to pass, is to drive once or twice a week for 1 - 2 hours at a time.

Extra hours may be beneficial when learning how to negotiate roundabouts and dual carriageways and reverse park. However, once these areas can be performed to a good standard, it is just a question of perfecting and maintaining that standard. As a result, your confidence will have a boost and you should be well on your way to ripping up those 'L' plates!

REMEMBER: The more hours you do at the beginning and the more you drive the better you become, thus it takes less time to pass your driving test which in turn saves you money!
